In a case that may set a legal precedent everywhere, the tree-loving homeowners have been ordered to cut down two of their trees by the city of Sunnyvale. The California Shade Control Act, a piece of legislation applying to trees planted after 1979 and enacted to help prevent blockage of solar power, was invoked - and it stood.
